On the 2nd November 2015 we started offering breastfeeding support at Trumpington Meadows Primary School, Kestral Rise, Trumpington. It is very close to the Trumpington Park & Ride, or you can be dropped off outside the front door.
Our Breastfeeding Drop-in has been providing vital, emergency breastfeeding support to mothers since 2007.
We were always funded by Homerton Children’s Centre.
As of September 2014, this funding was no more, due to County Council cuts.
We are campaigning to have this funding reinstated.
We recently became a registered charitable organisation in order to raise funds and apply for grants. We are totally dependent on grants and donations, so please use the donate button on this website if you would like to support us.

We are a group of La Leche League, Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and National Childbirth Trust Breastfeeding Counsellors and Leaders. One of us is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
We have been providing frontline breastfeeding support through the Children’s Centres in Cambridge for many years. Sadly, the current Government feels that cutting funding for early years support is a sensible way to save resources. Of course, we know that not investing in the first 3 years of life is a false economy.
The groups at Cherry Hinton and Homerton Children’s Centres are no longer in existence. CBA now pays for a room at Trumpington Meadows.
We’d like to stress that this is through no fault of the Children’s Centres. With funding cut and resources at a premium, they have to make difficult decisions. The nursing mothers of our city are victims of cuts that were decided without consultation.
We are seeking ways to access funding so that the parents of Cambridge can continue to access breastfeeding support on an almost daily basis. This is a crucial service for the young families of Cambridgeshire.
If you would like to help our campaign, please spread the word, talk to your County Councillor, leave a message – perhaps about how we helped you in the early days with your baby. Please explore our site to see how you can help.
